Looking to connect with a mentor who can help you navigate the challenges of adolescence?

At iYAM, we believe that every youth deserves a chance to grow and flourish. The Youth Empowerment Initiative is committed to providing diverse opportunities for young people (ages 15-20) in our community. Our Youth Mentorship Program is designed to carefully pair young African Youth with experienced, inspiring and qualified adult mentors.

Through our program, youth can receive mentorship, guidance, support, and encouragement to help them reach their full potential in every aspect of their lives.

Program Focus

Creating community leaders by providing opportunities for black/African youths to engage in meaningful life skills.
Creating a positive space for youth to engage in activities with other like minded young people. Opportunities to create friendships and mentor others.
Implemented activities that teach life skills, provide opportunities to engage in certification courses, resume building, investment/saving, jobs applications, housing and so much more.
Mentorship and shadowing opportunities, volunteering, and opportunities to engage in the community.
Opportunity to develop essential life skills, including leadership, communication, and problem-solving.
Encourage healthy physical education, mental well-being, we promote academic achievement and career readiness.
IYAM aims to inspire community engagement and volunteerism amongst youth.
